A fancy version of the Vambrace found in suits of Armor in Medieval & Renaissance times, and the Bracer used by Archers for thousands of years, our leather Vambraces add a stylish touch to any outfit. Even as recently as the late 19th and early 20th century, similar items were used in formal ceremonies by various fraternal organizations such as the Knights Templar, who's name and founding principles date back to the Crusades of the Middle Ages. Hand-crafted in our own workshop, our Vambraces are made using the finest 10-ounce Latigo leather, and are available in a variety of styles, sizes and colors.

'Windowpane' Vambraces

Handcrafted of Black Latigo leather, with either eyelets & laces or adjustable leather straps & buckles, this original Rencraft design features cutouts in a diamond pattern of nine 'windowpanes', backed (via the modern miracle of velcro) by interchangeable backing panels of fully-lined crushed panné velvet in Garnet Red, Forest Green and Royal Blue. For even more variety, wear them with no backing and let the fabric of your shirt or chemise show through the 'windowpanes'. You can even create your own custom backing panels. Please check our measurements below before ordering. For accurate measurements, it is best to measure OVER the type of long sleeve you will most frequently be wearing with the vambraces. Sleeves with flared or ruffled cuffs are most comfortable and look the best.

Pierced Knotwork Vambraces

The ultimate in sumptuous elegance, these Vambraces are embellished with hand-cut metal piercework in one of three Celtic Knotwork patterns in either Nickel alloy or Brass. We can also make these in Sterling Silver or Stainless Steel for an additional charge. The model at left is also wearing a Rencraft Pierced Knotwork Neckpiece. Reasonable care must be taken to avoid scratching/tarnishing of the metal. Polishing must be done carefully and properly to avoid discoloring the leather. In a feature added after the final product photos shown were taken, the piercework panels are attached to the leather with small brass rivets, to prevent the exterior corners from lifting off of the leather when flexed. Available in 2 colors of Latigo leather, with either either eyelets & laces or adjustable leather straps & buckles. Eyelets or rivets will match your choice of piercework metal.
