A Claddagh is a ring with a raised design of two hands clasping a crowned heart, usually given as a token of love or friendship.

Named after a fishing village near Galway in Ireland, and steeped in the tradition and legends of that fair city, the Claddagh Ring has come to be recognized around the world as an enduring and powerful symbol of friendship (represented by the hands), love (the heart), and loyalty (the crown):

Such a ring, worn on the right hand with the point of the heart turned outwards, symbolizes that the wearers heart is yet unspoken for.

Worn on the right hand with the the point of the heart turned inwards symbolizes that love is in bloom.

Worn on the left hand with the the point of the heart turned inwards symbolizes that two loves have become inseparable.
